Srinagar, Aug 23: The students of Central University Kashmir (CUK) today staged a protest demanding that their upcoming exams are held through virtual mode or they should be promoted to the next level as has been done with the students of other departments.
The students of the varsity’s Department of Legal Studies appeared in the Press Enclave and were raising slogans in favour of their demands.
“We were told that we will be promoted to the next, but they promoted the students of only a few departments,” said Nadiya Rashid one of the students.
She said that the date sheet that has been issued for the conductor of examinations by the University and they have been directed to appear in the examinations physically, which the students said, is impossible in the absence of transport and hostel facility.
“Neither are we provided with the hostel facility, nor are we being any transport facility and on top of it, the pandemic is still there and there is no chance of appearing the offline examinations,” the students said.
The students said that if they are not provided with these facilities, then the exams should be held online “as we have been attending the online classes, if that’s not possible, then we must be promoted to the next level.”
