CUK holds Executive Council meeting

GANDERBAL, June 11: Central University of Kashmir (CUK) today held its 22nd meeting of the Executive Council – the highest decision making body of the university, at its Green Campus with Vice Chancellor Prof Mehraj ud Din Mir in chair.
The business on the agenda was taken up by the Registrar Prof Fayaz Ahmad Nika and a number of business items were discussed in the meeting. The Council passed several important resolutions pertaining to academics and the development of the university. The members appreciated the efforts of the university in keeping the classroom transaction alive through electronic mode despite several constraints. The members pledged their full support to the university wherever required.
The meeting was held both through offline and online mode. Among others, who attended the meeting, included Prof V K Bahuguna, Chairman Foundation for Integrated Resource Management; Prof P Fazul Rehman, Director HRDC MANUU Hyderabad and Prof Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor Gaphic Era University.
The meeting was also attended by Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor Central University of Jammu as a special invitee and also by Deans of faculties namely Prof Mohammed Afzal Zargar, Prof G M Bhat and Prof Wali Mohammad Shah.
Prof Mehraj ud Din Mir briefly threw light on the functioning of the university highlighting the impediments it had to face and the strategic approach adopted by the university to overcome these impediments. Replying to a query from a member, the Chairman said the complete operations of the university have been shifted to Ganderbal. He further said that despite absence of several student centric facilities, the varsity has become a preferred destination for the students due to quality teaching and action oriented academic calendar. He expressed his optimism that expertise of newly appointed external members shall help the university to capitalize on their wisdom for better growth.
The meeting ended with a formal vote of thanks proposed by the Registrar.
