CUJ organizes panel discussion on ‘Education for Man Making’

JAMMU, Jan 20: The Department of Educational Studies, Central University of Jammu organised a panel discussion on “Education for Man Making” during the celebration of Yuva Shakti Saptah.
Prof Asit Mantry, Head, Department of Educational Studies, in his welcome address, highlighted the importance of education in shaping human values, personality development, and social responsibility.
The chief guest Dr Viplove Sudan, BDO Arnia, spoke on the role of education in nation building and character development. He emphasised that education should not be limited to academic achievement but must also contribute to ethical and moral growth. He further encouraged the students to prepare for competitive exams, so that they can contribute to nation building through administrative leadership. He also suggested various apps for the youth to maintain their intellectual and emotional aspects of personality.
Prof Ritu Bakshi, Dean, Students’ Welfare, Central University of Jammu, in her presidential address, stressed the relevance of value-based education in contemporary society and appreciated the initiative taken by the department.
The student panelists Raj Madhu, Akhil Wazir, Shubharti, Rashmi and Anand discussed various aspects of the life of Swami Vivekananda and his vision for education and the youth. During the panel discussion, the audience including senior faculty members, Dr Aman, Dr Ravi Vanguri, Dr Mohan Galgotra, Dr Ravail Singh, Dr Jai Bhawani Singh, Dr Tikal, scholars and students participated enthusiastically by asking questions on various issues on the present education system followed by discussions in the light of Swami Vivekananda.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Yad Ram.
