JAMMU, Mar 25: The Centre for Comparative Religions and Civilizations (CCRC), Central University of Jammu, organized a one-day national conference on the theme “Global Peace Order Through Indian Thoughts” with active participation from scholars and academicians across the country.
Presiding over the inaugural session, Prof Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, emphasized that the integration of modern technologies with human values can play a crucial role in establishing global peace.
The chief guest of the conference, Prof N K Taneja, former Vice Chancellor of Chaudhary Charan Singh University, highlighted the importance of Vedanta philosophy in shaping a sustainable global peace order.
The guest of honour and keynote speaker, Laxman, stressed the need to adopt practical approaches and actionable strategies to achieve lasting peace in society.
Welcoming the dignitaries, Prof Niranjana Bhandari, Director of CCRC, expressed optimism that the deliberations and outcomes of the conference would contribute meaningfully towards peace-building efforts in India and across the globe.
The formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof Yashwant Singh, Registrar of the University. The inaugural session was convened by Dr Ajay Kumar Singh.
The conference featured three technical sessions during which more than thirty research papers were presented by participants from different parts of India. Dr Sarvesh Tripathi from Central Sanskrit University deliberated on the relevance of Kashmir Shaivism in achieving global peace. Dr Dinesh Jamwal from the Department of Philosophy, University of Jammu, emphasized self-realization as the path to a peaceful world.
Dr Rajesh Sharma from the Department of Buddhist Studies elaborated on the teachings of Lord Buddha as guiding principles for global harmony. Dr Panu Sharma presented her research on Narayana Guru’s concept of “one religion” as a foundation for universal peace.
The conference witnessed active participation from faculty members including Dr Arvind Rituraj and Dr G V Snigdha Raj, along with research scholars Narottam Kushwaha, Naresh Kumar, Rohit Kumar, Deewanshu Rathore, Sachin Bauriyan, Sunil Kumar, Rishita Manhas, Heenam Bhagat, Ankit Kushwaha, Rishav Raj, and Rahul Kumar.
On the occasion, the Annual Newsletter of the Centre for Comparative Religions and Civilizations was also released by the Vice Chancellor Prof Sanjeev Jain.
