JAMMU, Feb 8: The Department of Marketing & SCM at the Central University of Jammu hosted an engaging and informative webinar on “TOEFL and GRE Exams” under the guidance of Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor. The event saw the participation of esteemed resource persons from the Educational Testing Service (ETS) India, along with faculty members from the School of Business Studies.
The webinar was formally inaugurated by Prof. Jaya Bhasin, Dean of the School of Business Studies, and Dr. Neelika Arora, Head of the Department of MSCM. They were joined by Dr. Naresh Kumar, Principal of the Community College, and faculty members Dr. Vinay Kumar, Dr. Arun Yadav, Dr. Anju Thapa and Dr. Shahid Mushtaq.
Prof. Bhasin praised the efforts of the department under the leadership of Prof. Jain, emphasizing the significance of professional development activities for students. She urged the participants to make the most of the opportunity to learn from the distinguished speakers, who brought a wealth of knowledge about TOEFL and GRE exams.
Dr. Shahid Mushtaq, Assistant Professor at the Department of Marketing & SCM, introduced ETS India, explaining that it is a non-profit organization headquartered in Princeton, USA, which administers English proficiency tests like TOEFL and GRE globally. He stressed that the webinar would be of immense benefit to participants seeking a deeper understanding of these exams, informing that more than 250 participants had registered for the event.
Dr. Neelika Arora welcomed the guests and introduced the resource persons, highlighting their corporate experience and expertise in preparing students for these exams. Kanika Mehra, Regional Manager – North India at ETS India, provided a detailed overview of TOEFL and GRE, explaining their format and acceptance at universities worldwide. Munish Modi, Senior Business Development Manager at ETS India, discussed free preparation resources and monthly online masterclasses offered by ETS.
The session concluded with a Q&A and a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Naresh Kumar. The event was coordinated by Dr. Shahid Mushtaq and Dr. Neelika Arora, with Dr. Anju Thapa conducting the proceedings.
