CUJ Controller unaware about postponement of exam

JAMMU, May 1: Making a mockery of the system, the Department to Human Resource Management in Central University of Jammu today postponed its second semester examination, which was scheduled to be held today, for no reasons and that too without informing even the Controller of Examination.
More ironic is the fact Controller of Examination, CUJ, was not aware about postponement of the exam even when contacted by the Excelsior late this evening for ascertaining reason behind the same thus revealing state of affairs in the university.
“I have no intimation from the department about postponement of any examination and moreover if such a decision could have been taken, I would have prior information about the same,” said Dr Gourav Sehgal, Controller of Examination, CUJ.
According to the sources in Management Department, the examinations of 2nd and 4th semester of Management Department were to be held today at 11 a.m as per the date sheet already notified. However, sources added, minutes before commencement of the exam, the 2nd semester students were told by the Department that their today’s paper was postponed for ensuring their participation in a workshop.
The state of affairs in the CUJ can be gauged from the fact that the decision for postponement of the exam was solely taken by the Department head Prof Jaya Bhasin, who did not inform about the same even to the Controller of Examination apparently because of the reason that both of them are not in good terms owing to the controversies surrounding their appointment.
