JAMMU, June 24: Central University of Jammu organized meeting for starting courses in emerging area of science here today.
The meeting was attended by Dr K Radhakrishnan, former Chairman, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Dr. N Kumar Jain, Member, American Chemical Society & former Director, Defence laboratory, Jodhpur, Prof. Alim H. Naqvi, Centre of Excellence Materials Science, Aligarh Muslim University, Dr B R Singh, AMU, Prof. S K Shah, former Dean, Deptt. of Geology, University of Jammu, Prof P N Kotru, Deptt. of Physics, University of Jammu, Prof Rajnikant, Deptt. of Physics, JU, Prof. S. K Khosa, JU and Prof B L Kalsotra, Deptt. of Chemistry, JU.
Dr K Radhakrishnan, former Chairman, ISRO in his address appreciated the efforts of the University for the starting courses in emerging area of science like, Space Science, Earth Science and Nanotechnology. Prof S K Shah emphasized on the integration of Science rather than the compartmentalization.
The Vice Chancellor Prof. Ashok Aima gave a power point presentation about the progress of campus building works, academic programmes presently offered by the University and the future academic initiatives. The Vice Chancellor also added that six academic departments would be shifted to the campus.
Earlier, Prof Lokesh Verma, Academic Coordinator welcomed the chief guest and expert who participated in this meeting.
Prof Devanand, Prof R.L.Bhat. Dr. Pavinder Singh, Dr Pankaj Mehta, Dr. Bachha babu, Dr. Shahid Mushtaq, Sh H K Prasher and R.P Gupta also attended the meeting.
