KATRA, Aug 21: The Chamber of Tourism Trade and Industry Katra (CTTIK) in collaboration with the Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK) today organized Tourism Conclave 2025 with the theme “Partnerships for Progress”.
The conclave was inaugurated by MLA Vaishno Devi Katra, Baldev Raj Sharma, along with the guests of honour Savita Chouhan, Deputy Director Publicity Jammu Tourism and Alka Misra, AD Tourism Katra, in the presence of Shiv Kumar Sharma, president Senior Citizen Welfare Forum Katra.
In his welcome address, CTTIK President Raj Kumar Padha stressed the need for modern infrastructure to attract repeat travellers, highlighting that such conclaves bring long-term benefits to every hospitality-related business including hotels, guest houses, travel agents, and transporters.
TAAK President Rouf Tramboo underlined the importance of converting leisure tourism into pilgrimage tourism and vice versa.
Former President Peerzada Faiyaz Ahmed analyzed the topography of tourist destinations, recommending eco-tourism initiatives and expressed optimism for a high tourist inflow in the coming months.
Former President Farooq Kuthoo highlighted the impact of Katra–Srinagar train connectivity, which has opened new opportunities in tourism, travel, and trade.
MLA Baldev Raj Sharma informed the gathering about several major infrastructure projects in progress for Katra, including the Intermodal Station Katra, Delhi–Amritsar–Katra Expressway, proposed smart roads, train from Katra to Kashmir, train connecting Katra and Chandigarh.
Savita Chouhan acknowledged the concerns raised by the speakers and assured full support from the Tourism Department.
Prominent CTTIK office bearers present included Babu Ram Sharma, Susheel Dubey, Dharun Sharma, Raman Goswami, Ramnik Sharma, Atul Sharma, Rattan Sharma, Neelam Singh, Vivek Gupta, Vishal Kapoor and Arun Sharma.
Delegates from TAAK included Sajad Ahmed Kralyari, Ghulam Nabi Bhatt, Ajaz A Raja, Sheikh Parvez, Mubarik Ahmed, Showkat Khankashi, Ibrahim Raina, Sameer Ahmed, Mohd Imran Khan, Bilal Ahmed Mir, and Aizaz Hussain.
The Travel Agents Association of Katra was represented by Ashwini Sharma, Ajay Gupta, Raj Kumar Dubey, Ajay Sharma, and Munish Kapoor. Proceedings of the conclave were conducted by Dr Ankush.
Among others present were Manoj Sadhotra, Vijay Ganjoo, Gaurav Sharma, Romesh Kumar, Mukund, Anil Sharma, Abhinav Sharma, Rakesh Sharma, Hemraj, Renueji Dhar, Manohar Singh, Sahil Sharma, Jasvinder Singh, and Pardeep Kumar.
