NEW DELHI, Feb 4: Amid a weak trend overseas, crude oil futures declined by 0.21 per cent to Rs 5,176 per barrel today as participants reduced their positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in February shed Rs 11, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 5,176 per barrel, with a business volume of 6,786 lots.
The oil for March delivery also moved down by similar margin to Rs 5,222 per barrel in a turnover 625 lots.
Marketmen said the fall in crude oil futures prices was in line with a weakening trend overseas on profit-booking
Meanwhile, crude oil for March delivery dropped by 25 cents to USD 97.52 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. (PTI)
