CRPF ensured peaceful conduct of Mela

SRINAGAR, June 4: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), along with other security agencies, ensured smooth and secure arrangements for thousands of pilgrims who participated in the annual Mata Kheer Bhawani Mela at the Tulmulla temple in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
Held on June 2 and 3, the Mela witnessed the participa0tion of devotees from across India and abroad, who gathered at the revered shrine to offer prayers.
A CRPF spokesperson said a multi-layered security grid was in place throughout the event. “Area sanitization, access control, round-the-clock surveillance, crowd and traffic management, and deployment of Quick Reaction Teams were all part of our comprehensive security plan,” the spokesperson said.
In addition to security duties, he said, the CRPF personnel assisted pilgrims by guiding them, managing crowd movement, and providing basic support services.
The CRPF’s 115 Battalion, based at the BARC Complex in Zakura, Srinagar, led the on-ground operations. “The peaceful completion of the festival reflects the strong commitment of security forces to maintaining peace and supporting religious freedom in Jammu and Kashmir,” the spokesperson said.
