SRINAGAR, July 27: The 87th Raising Day of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was celebrated with enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at the Group Centre, CRPF Srinagar today.
The event was graced by Rajesh Kumar, Additional Director General, CRPF JK Zone, who was the chief guest. Inspector General of Srinagar Sector Pawan Kumar Sharma and IG KOS CRPF Vineet Brij Lal, along with several senior officers, also attended the celebration.
A special Sainik Sammelan was held to mark the occasion, during which 22 officers and personnel were honoured with the Director General’s Disc and Commendation Certificates for their exceptional service and operational excellence.
In his address, ADG Rajesh Kumar praised the CRPF’s legacy and its key role in various operations across Punjab, Left Wing Extremism (LWE)-affected areas, North-East India, and Jammu & Kashmir.
He also recalled the bravery shown by CRPF personnel at the historic Sardar Post battle, where a small team of jawans bravely faced a full brigade of the Pakistani Army.
The celebration included sports events and a traditional “Bara Khana” to uplift the morale of the troops.
The event concluded with renewed resolve among the personnel to continue serving the nation with dedication and pride.
