POONCH, Feb 15: Cross LoC trade via Chakkan-Da-Bagh between India and Pakistan continued today despite strong protests not only in Poonch but entire country against Pakistan for terrorists’ attack on CRPF bus in Kashmir in which 44 jawans were martyred on Thursday.
Sources said that despite declaration by the Govt of India to withdraw Most Favoured Nation status from Pakistan today in view of Pulwama CRPF bus stack attack, 23 trucks loaded with goods arrived here from Pak occupied Kashmir side while 35 loaded trucks from Indian side crossed over to PoK side.
The loaded vehicles from Trade Facilitation Centre (TFC) Poonch, were allowed to move towards the Chakkan-Da-Bagh LoC point at around 11 AM today. The staff from District Administration Poonch including TFO and Pakistani officials from Rawlakote (Hazira) facilitated the exchange of goods at the Cross LoC point today.
Meanwhile, locals from Poonch- Surjan Singh, secretary District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Poonch, Satish Patil and Kamaldeep said that when entire Poonch and country was protesting against Pakistan for terrorists’ attack in Kashmir and mourning the martyrdom of our 44 jawans, at least the trade should have been suspended today with Pakistan. They demanded that trade and other ties with Pakistan should be suspended immediately.
