JAMMU, Jan 18: In the fake appointment racket case, Crime Branch Jammu has arrested the notorious fraudster who was not cooperating in the investigation and had been evading his arrest.
Fraudster Manzoor Hussain Qadri, son of Ghulam Hassan Qadri of village Poshwani, Pattan, Baramulla, was arrested from Beli-Charana area in outskirts of Jammu City. He is accused in case FIR No. 28/2015 U/s 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B/ RPC at P/S Crime Branch Jammu, for his involvement in forging fake appointment orders and cheating unemployed youth in league with a gang of other fraudsters.
The case was registered after a written complaint was lodged in Crime Branch Jammu by Radhey Sham of village Kanah, Tehsil Hiranagar District Kathua. He came into contact with Swarn Lal of village Mahesha Chak, Hiranagar Kathua in 2009 who introduced himself to be a Govt employee and brother of an Army officer. Swarn Lal told the complainant that he can arrange jobs in the Territorial Army for a monetary consideration of Rs 1.5 lacs per person. As many as 12 unemployed persons were allured by the accused Swarn Lal to pay him Rs 50,000/- per head as advance and Rs 1 lakh after getting appointment order. In this way, a huge amount was extorted by the accused person along with accused Hamid Dar from unemployed youths at Dayala Chak Hiranagar and after that at Srinagar also.
After preliminary enquiry, the instant case was registered at P/S Crime Branch Jammu against the accused -Manzoor Hussain Qadri and other co-accused namely Swarn Lal, Abdul Hamid Dar son of Sana-Ullah Dar of village Kalantra District Baramulla A/P HMT Zainakot opposite Hr Sec School Srinagar and others. Warrant U/S 512/Cr PC were issued by the court for effecting arrest of the accused as he was not cooperating in the investigation of the case.
Accused Qadri was an employee of Forest Department and was later dismissed from the service. Subsequently, he joined the gang of other co-accused and started luring and duping the unemployed youth on the pretext of providing Govt jobs in Army, Forest Deptt, UEED and other para-military forces. He is also involved in as many as eight criminal cases registered in different Police Stations. He has obtained different SIM cards after obtaining fake Aadhar cards on fake identities of other people.
