JAMMU, Oct 18: Panun Kashmir (PK) organized an activists’ meet here, today to discuss prevailing political situation in UT of J&K.
The gathering aimed to reaffirm the Kashmiri Pandit community’s unwavering demand for a separate homeland in the Kashmir valley, a cause rooted in ensuring their political empowerment, safety, and dignified return.
The introductory address was made by Behari Lal Koul, organizing secretary PK, who emphasized the importance of unity and sustained efforts to achieve the community’s aspirations. Koul urged activists to stay resolute, particularly in light of ongoing challenges that threaten to weaken the movement’s focus. He highlighted that PK will observe Homeland Day that symbolizes not just a struggle for land but a fight for justice, dignity, and recognition of the community’s suffering.
Kuldeep Raina – general secretary of PK, spoke about the community’s long-standing sacrifices. He called on KPs to continue the fight with renewed vigour, stressing that the journey is far from over and that every step towards securing their rightful place in the Valley must be taken with determination. He also stated that PK is fundamental instrument by which inherently pro-Indian people can defend themselves as both Indians and Hindus in Kashmir.
Bhushan Lal Bhat a PK activist emphasized the need for collective strength and greater participation from all age groups within the community, especially the younger generation. Bitu Jee called for constant vigilance against attempts to dilute the core demand for a geo-political restructuring of Kashmir. P.L. Koul Badgami emphatically stated that there is no need of restoration of statehood as it only runs the writ and hegemony of that class of politics which is responsible to drive Kashmiri Pandits out of their land , lock, stock and barrel. Therefore what is more necessary is to create separate Homeland in Kashmir for Kashmiri Pandits.
T.N. Koul, Boopinder, and P.L. Raina while echoing these sentiments also focused on the goal of a separate homeland.
Community members, including P.N. Raina, Daya Krishan, T K Ganjoo, S.K. Sher, Raj Nath Raina, and Opinder Ambardar, also participated in the meeting.
The meeting concluded with a firm message of resilience and commitment to the Homeland Day cause. As PK prepares for this symbolic day, the activist meet has galvanized support and unity within the community, reinforcing their dedication to achieving justice, security, and political empowerment in their homeland.
