CRC Jammu celebrates World Sight Day at Louis Braille Memorial School

JAMMU, Oct 10: The Composite Regional Centre (CRC) Jammu celebrated World Sight Day at the Louis Braille Memorial Residential School in Roop Nagar, Jammu.
The event, coordinated by Neeraj Singh, Mobility Instructor at CRC Jammu, focused on raising awareness about visual impairment and promoting eye health.
The ceremony began with a lamp-lighting ritual, led by CRC Jammu Director Dr Rohnika Sharma, along with Naveen Gupta, Administrative Officer, and Aprajita Chopra, Superintendent of the Louis Braille Memorial School.
Students delighted the audience with performances, including a welcome song, Dogri folk dance, and a touching poem on the theme of “Divyang.”
A thought-provoking play addressing youth addiction to mobile devices was a highlight of the event, along with additional poetry recitations that engaged the audience.
In her address, Dr Sharma emphasized the importance of vision care and encouraged the students to pursue their goals despite challenges. The event concluded with refreshments, fostering a sense of community.
Neeraj Singh delivered a vote of thanks, appreciating everyone involved in making the event a success.
