Srinagar, Jan 18: The Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police today sent 12 people including six students and equal number of parents who are involved in Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE)’s Common Entrance Test (CET)-2012 scam to judicial custody.
The Crime Branch produced six students – Ahmad Faraz, Mushtaq Lone, Naveen Bhat, Khursheed Dar, Yasir Yusuf Hajam, Yasir Yusuf Dar- and six parents – Bilal Beg, Bashir Dar, Mohammad Shafi Bhat, Mohammad Iqbal Reshi, Ghulam Mohidin, Mohammad Yusuf Dar – before Special Judge Anti Corruption Srinagar Mohan Lal Manhas today.
These 12 people who are involved in the scam were first time produced before the Court since Crime Branch produced challan against 25 persons before the Judge on January 12, 2014 at Jammu for their involvement in CET-2013 scam. The Court extended their judicial remand upto January 20 and 23 respectively.
The Crime Branch Counsel, Khalid Muzaffar, told the Court that remaining six students and three parents will be produced before the Court on next date of hearing.
In the meantime, the former chairman of BOPEE and the main accused in CET-2012 scam filed fresh bail application before the Court through his advocate Molvi Aijaz and another accused Sajjad Ahmad Bhat also filed fresh bail application through his counsel Advocate Mushtaq Ahmad Dar.
Court kept both applications were kept for prosecution objections on January 21 and the main case was listed for January 28.
