Court grants bail to alleged conspirator against Asaram

JAMMU, Apr 7: Additional Sessions Judge Jammu, Rajesh Sekhri has granted bail to Satish Wadhwani, a resident of Indore, who was arrested on the complaint filed by one Vikrant Sharma on behalf of Asaram Bapu.
In the complaint filed before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate on October 15, 2014, the complainant Vikrant Sharma, a devotee of Bhola Nath, who was incharge of Asaram Bapu’s Ashram at Bhagwati Nagar, it was mentioned that Satish Wadhwani, one time driver and bodyguard of Asaram Bapu had conspired with others to defame Bapu by falsely burying the skeletons in the Ashram.
The CJM forwarded complaint to SHO Police Station, Nowabad and accordingly a case under Sections 194, 195-A, 295, 295-A, 383, 153 and 120-B RPC was registered against Satish Wadhwani, who was arrested from Indore on February 19, 2016. The Satish Wadhwani is also a prosecution witness in main case registered in Surat against Asaram Bapu. The challan is yet to be presented against Satish Wadhwani.
Additional Sessions Judge Jammu after hearing Advocate Rajesh Bhushan, counsel for the applicant-accused, held that further arrest of the accused will not serve any purpose for investigating agency. Accordingly, court granted bail to Satish Wadhwani on furnishing of two local sureties in the amount of Rs 50,000 each.
“The applicant shall not jump over bail and tamper with prosecution witness”, Additional Sessions Judge said, adding “the applicant shall also not leave the jurisdiction of J&K without the permission of the court”.
