Court directs CPO Vigilance to file fresh status report before May 16

JAMMU, May 8: Special Judge Anti-corruption, Jammu, Puneet Gupta today directed the Chief Prosecuting Officer (CPO) of the State Vigilance Organization to submit fresh status report in the alleged double drawal of petrol/diesel by Deputy Chief Minister and others before May 16.
These directions were passed in an application filed by Prof SK Bhalla seeking appropriate direction to the SSP VOJ to submit the latest status in the complaint.
After hearing Advocate Zulkar Nain Shiekh appearing for the complainant, Special Judge Anticorruption directed CPO Vigilance to file status report before May 16, 2013.
In the application, it has been submitted that vide its order dated March 6, 2013 the Court had directed the VOJ to complete the enquiry without any further delay and preferably within a period of two months and prayed that VOJ may be directed to place before Court the outcome of the preliminary enquiry and the steps taken toward the registration of FIR against Tara Chand, Deputy Chief Minister, Suresh Kumar, the then Commissioner Secretary Housing and Urban Development Department, Dr Raj Kumar Thappa, Special Assistant to Deputy CM, Prabhu Singh, PRO to Deputy CM, Kewal Sharma, PRO to DyCM, Vijay Kumar, PRO to Deputy CM, PK Pole, former VC JDA, Mubarakh Singh, the then JMC Commissioner and SC Sawhney, the then Commissioner JMC.
“But even after the lapse of more than two months the Vigilance Organization has not submitted status report”, the applicant said.
