JAMMU, June 24: Vacation Sessions Judge Jammu, Y P Kotwal today rejected the anticipatory bail of Rajni Sehgal, Superintendent Udhampur Jail.
Rajni Sehgal and three other officials of the Prison Department namely Ravi Kumar, Mohan Lal and Suman Kumar were booked by the Crime Branch for alleged misappropriation of precious ‘gold coins’ belonging to Medieval Period which were recovered from the premises of Central Jail at Kot Bhalwal in 2012.
After hearing both the sides, Vacation Sessions Judge observed, “considering the nature of custodial interrogation, this court is not inclined to exercise the discretionary power under Section 497-A of CrPC by granting pre-arrest bail to the applicant”.
Accordingly, the court dismissed the anticipatory bail.
