JAMMU, Sept 5: Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu Ashwani Sharma today rejected the bail application of Dr Bodh Raj Kundal, Head of Neurology Department of Government Medical College Jammu, who is accused of molesting a patient.
After hearing CPO Ashish Rathore with Senior PO M A Almansoor and PO Arvind Manhas for the Police whereas Advocate Rajesh Gupta for the doctor, CJM observed, “it is true that bail is rule but jail is exception. However, present case falls within the exception because the profession of doctors is a very sacred one”.
“If the doctors themselves indulge in such type of crimes the faith of the general public particularly the women folk shall be shaken. There is no reason to implicate the accused by the prosecutrix in false case”, the court further said while rejecting the bail application.
Meanwhile, City Judge Jammu extended the police remand of Dr Bodh Raj Kundal till September 9.
