Courses on ‘Terrorism/Counter-Insurgency,’ ‘IPR’ conclude at SKPA

UDHAMPUR, Dec 24: Two specialized training courses on “Terrorism/Counter Insurgency” and “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)” concluded successfully at the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) here today.
The valedictory function was chaired by SSP Benam Tosh, Deputy Director SKPA Udhampur, who attended as the Chief Guest.
He addressed the participants, appreciated their dedication and encouraged them to work with renewed commitment to curb terrorism and crime.
He also presented certificates to the participants in the presence of Course Directors Nasser Mehmood Naik and Vikas Manhas.
Several eminent resource persons delivered lectures during the courses.
These included Dr Savita Nayyar from the Department of Law, University of Jammu; Dr Ranjan Sharma from the Department of Strategic and Regional Studies, University of Jammu; Prof Vishal Sharma, HoD Electronics, Government MAM College Jammu; High Court Advocate Supriya Chouhan; Senior Prosecuting Officer Amit Prakash Sehgal; and senior officers from the Cyber Police Station Jammu and SKPA Udhampur.
A total of 32 police officers, ranging in rank from Sub-Inspector to Superintendent of Police, drawn from different wings and districts of Jammu and Kashmir, participated in the courses.
The training was held simultaneously from December 22 to December 24, 2025.
The officers received in-depth inputs on terrorism, radicalization, internal security challenges, bio-warfare and intellectual property rights.
At the conclusion, the participants reaffirmed their resolve to combat anti-national and anti-social elements with greater zeal and professionalism.
