JAMMU, Sept 24: A couple from Maghali area of Udhampur died in a road accident near ASCOMS hospital, here today.

Liyaqat Ali (52) son of Sharif and his wife Razia Begum (48), both residents of Maghali, Udhampur, were walking on the ASCOMS Hospital-Narwal road around 1:45 pm when they were hit by an AFCON vehicle from the back side, resulting in severe injuries to the duo, police said.
They were immediately taken to ASCOMS Hospital, from where they were further shifted to Government Medical College Jammu, where they were declared as dead on arrival, they said.
Police have taken cognisance of the matter and registered a case under the relevant sections of the law at Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu and started further investigation into the matter.
