Couple among 3 fraudsters booked

JAMMU, Oct 9: Crime Branch Jammu has booked a couple among three fraudsters for duping a person of his hard earned money after stealing his phone.
A criminal case has been registered against the accused persons, namely Gagan Arora son of Krishan Lal of House No. F-3/19 Prem Nagar Majitha Road Amritsar Punjab, his wife Manpreet Kour and Vishal Goyal son of Govind Goyal of 34/60/1-A Shubham Enclave Dayal Bagh Balkeshwar Agra Kiraoli UP, for duping the complainant of his hard money to the tune of Rs 4, 13, 450/- by using his MPay application after stealing his phone.
The complainant, namely Sader-Ud Din Zargar of village Dharam, Tehsil Gool, District Ramban, had lodged a complainant in Crime Branch, Jammu stating that while he was traveling back to his home on 17-04-2019 from Delhi to Jammu by Train No: 19805/Kota UHP Express after performing Umrah, he found that his mobile phone was missing. The mobile phone contained two SIM cards besides his personal information including MPay App. In this regard, the complainant on reaching Railway Station, Jammu lodged a missing report in Police Station Railway, Jammu.
The complainant procured duplicate SIM Card from JIO office and when he inserted the SIM card in a cell phone he received a number of messages relating to Bank transactions of his Account number of J&K Bank Gool, District Ramban, which revealed fraudulent transfer of his hard earned money from his bank account to the tune of Rs 4, 13, 450/- through his net banking app MPay.
On the basis of the complaint, Crime Branch Jammu initiated an enquiry and established that the complainant was actually duped of his money by the fraudsters after stealing his mobile phone and using his vital information stored in the phone.
Case has been registered and the investigation has been set in motion.
