KATHUA, Sept 4: Former minister and president DCC Kathua, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has alleged that BJP must accept its failure as country’s economy has gone all time low under its rule.
While addressing public meeting at Mangloor in Tehsil Dinga Amb of Billawar constituency today, DCC leader criticized BJP led NDA Government for failing to run country as economy has hit all time low. Manohar said that the truth can no longer be hidden despite “headline management” by the ruling dispensation.
DCC president said low GDP growth was expected and the BJP-led Central Government single-handedly “murdered” the Indian economy. He said unemployment is at 45 year high. The slowdown in automobile sales is leading to closure of industrial units in the sector and threatening the livelihood of 3.50 lakh workers. Besides, farmers were not getting a fair price for their produce, leading to the worsening of their debt burden.
Sharma said Prime Minister had promised to make India a $5-trillion economy. For that to happen, the country had to grow at 12% a year but the growth rate is continuously declining adding that had the Government listened to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, it could have revived the economy.
He further said that two key policies implemented by the Government–demonetization and flawed GST implementation–are responsible for the current economic slowdown.
“This Government runs away from the word demonetization, which was the first fatal blow to our otherwise reasonably good economy. The flawed implementation of GST was the second blow. But this Government is very good with just shifting the goalposts, distracting attention.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included DS Bindu, Kulbushan Singh, Karam Chand Khajuria, Rajinder Thakur, Kundan Lal Khajuria, Ajit Singh, Raghubir Dass, Chamail Singh, Surinder Abrol and others.
