SRIHARIKOTA : With less than 24 hours for the launch, the countdown for the lift off of the four stage PSLV-C34, saddled with a basket of 20 satellites, is progressing normally.
The workhorse launch vehicle of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will blast off for an epoch making journey into the space at 0926 hrs tomorrow in one of the most tricky and complex mission in which 20 satellites would be ejected, including the primary Cartosat-2 series.
ISRO Sources said today that the spacecraft health checks were on and the preparations for propellant filling operation of second stage (PS2) of PSLV-C34 was under progress.
A series of events would take place till the launch tomorrow morning from the second launchpad of the Satish Dhawan Spaceport here.
With a lift off weight of 3220 tonne and a height of 44.4 metres, PSLV-C34 has a total payload weight of 1288 kg including the 727.5 kg cartosat-2 for earth observation. The 19 co passengers together weigh about 56 kg at liftoff.
The satellites would be hurled into a 505 Km sun synchronous orbit. It will be the 14th flight of PSLV in XL configuration with the use of solid strapon motors.
The co passenger satellites were from the United States, Canada, Germany and Indonesia bases two satellite for Indian University and academic institute.
