UDHAMPUR, Sept 23: A cosmetic and readymade shop caught fire at Balian (Battal Balian), here, today resulting in heavy loss to the shopkeeper.
As the fire broke out, panic gripped the entire market and all the shopkeepers as well as other people rushed towards the shop to put off the blazes. Cause of the fire could not be ascertained.
People who reached the spot poured water on the fire to prevent blazes from spreading in surrounding shops. With their strenuous efforts people managed to control the fire after two hour. The fire tender and the police also reached the spot after receiving the information.
The shopkeeper, Ram Parkash informed the police that fire caused a lot of damage in the shop. He said the police have taken cognizance of the matter and further action will be taken after investigation.
