POONCH, Dec 19: A private car caught fire in the Mendhar town in district Poonch this afternoon.
Official sources said that Indica car bearing registration No. PB08AS/4420, belonging to a Police Constable, Abdul Qadeer, deployed as PSO with local PDP leader Mohd Mahroof, was parked on the road side at Hakim Morh in Mendhar town. It suddenly caught fire at around 12.30 pm.
The people immediately removed the adjoining vehicles immediately, parked near by the burning car and started pouring water but the fire could not be controlled.
The Fire tender arrived there after some time but the vehicle had already been damaged badly in the fire. The owner has claimed some sabotage as the car was parked and not moving at that time. The police has registered a case in this connection.
