JAMMU, Oct 13: A Head Constable of SDRF sustained injuries when his gun went off accidentally at Gulshan Ground here today, officials said.
Resident of Rehari Colony, Jammu, Head Constable Sanjeev Kumar (53), who is presently posted with 2nd Battalion of the SDRF, was injured while cleaning his service rifle during duty hours at Gulshan Ground Jammu, they said.
He was accordingly shifted to Government Medical College Jammu, where his condition is stated to be stable, officials said.
Pertinently, Gulshan Ground is currently buzzing with activities in view of the approaching Police Diwali Mela to be inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on October 14.
