UDHAMPUR, Apr 1: SSP Udhampur has dismissed a Constable from service with immediate effect for his alleged involvement in a narcotics-related case.
The action against Constable Arjun Sharma (No. 886/U, PID No. EXJ-126992) follows a departmental enquiry in connection with case FIR No. 170/2025 under the NDPS Act of Police Station Rehmbal.
The cop was apprehended during naka checking by the Police team of PP Tikri and contraband heroin was recovered from his possession, later confirmed by FSL. The misconduct was found to be grave and unbecoming of a police official. After due process, including a show cause notice, the reply submitted was found unsatisfactory.
Accordingly, in the exercise of powers under Rule 359 of the J&K Police Rule, the official has been “DISMISSED” from service.
