JAMMU, May 23: In its continued drive against Narcotic smugglers and drug peddlers, Rajouri Police today achieved a major success by recovering huge quantity of drugs from two persons who happen to be Police Constables.
During a special naka a Maruti car JK02M/4242 was intercepted in which two constables were travelling. On seeing the Police party Sgct. Imtaiz Ahmed No.132/ Ktr fled from the spot whereas Constable Shah Nawaz Ahmed No. 851/Ktr was nabbed and from his possession and on his disclosure 1010 Proxivan Capsules and 180 bottles Corex were recovered.
SP Rajouri Mubassir Latifi said that both these constables have an unsavory past and were transferred out of district for their dubious acclivities. They used to visit Rajouri on one or the other pretext where a strict surveillance was kept on their activities.
Case FIR No. 258/2013 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act. has been registered in P/S Rajouri and investigation started and hunt for the arrest of Sg. Constable Imtiaz Ahmed is on. Some more arrests and recovery is likely to be made in the coming days.
