JAMMU, Mar 9: Police have registered a case after a woman alleged that a group of people forcefully entered her house in the RS Pura area here, assaulted her and her son, and attempted to outrage her modesty while also damaging household property.

The incident reportedly occurred on March 4 when the accused Rakesh Kumar of Kotli Gala Bana, RS Pura, along with his mother, and 5-6 unidentified persons, allegedly broke the main door of the house of his neighbour and attacked the victims when the woman was alone at home as her husband had gone out for routine work.
According to the complaint, Rakesh Kumar, a CT (Constable) driver in the security wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with other accused persons allegedly entered the house carrying iron rods and wooden logs.
The complainant alleged that the accused beat her and her son, tore her clothes and damaged costly household items, including the main door of the house.
She further claimed that the accused also pointed a pistol at her son and threatened him with dire consequences.
Taking cognizance of the complaint, police have registered a case FIR No. 52/2026 under sections 333/74/324(4)/ 351(2)/191(2) of the BNS and 3/25 Arms Act at Police Station RS Pura and started further investigation into the matter.
