After putting black ribbon on their eyes, the protesting Lecturers raised slogans against the State Government and alleged that all the ministers and Government functionaries had turned a blind eye towards their genuine demand. They reiterated their resolve to continue the protest till the Government concedes their demand.
These agitating Contractual Lecturers are demanding their regularization as per the Civil Services special Provision Act 2010, a policy framed for the regularization of all the Ad hock, Contractual and Consolidated employees after seven years of their service.
Earlier, this morning, fresh batch of Contractual Lecturers began their chain hunger strike amidst raising of slogans.
While addressing the protest demonstration, Arun Bakshi, president of the Contractual Lecturers (10+2) Association and Jeevan Kumar, general secretary, highlighted the plights of Contractual Lecturers and lamented that the Government had adopted an insensitive attitude towards highly educated community of the State.
