JAMMU, Feb 1: All J&K Contractual Lecturers (10+2) Forum continued their hunger strike demanding regularization of their services.
While speaking on the occasion, Arun Bakhshi, president of the Association, said that for last about one year they are on hunger strike but nobody from the Government side took any step to resolve the burning issue of highly educated contractual lecturers who have been appointed in the far flung areas across the State to run the defunct educational institutions on meager ransom of Rs 3500, Rs 4500 and now Rs 7000.
Bakhshi said Education Minister made it clear before the media that head of the State has to take decision and secondly he has given indication to take up the case before the Cabinet, which he said, is the positive indication and a ray of hope for the (10+2) contractual lecturers because as per the direction of the Education Minister, we have already approached all the Cabinet Ministers, who have given us a positive nod to get it OK in the Cabinet.
The Association President appealed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh and all other Cabinet Ministers to get this case OK as and when the Education Minister puts it up before the Cabinet.
Those who were on chain hunger strike today include Ashwani Kumar, Anil Kumar, Reva Rani and Madhvi Sharma.
