JAMMU, June 23: All contractual employees across the State, working under SSA, today observed a pen-down strike in protest against no enhancement of their salaries.
The protesting employees raised slogans in support of their demand for implementation of the decision of 11th meeting of Executive Committee regarding the enhancement of salary of contractual employees engaged under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.
At Srinagar, the protesting employees assembled in the premises of the Directorate of SSA, Bemina and registered their protest.
Later, the State Project Director SSA assured that the necessary orders regarding the enhancement of salary of the contractual employees under SSA shall be issued within two days. On this assurance, the protesting employees announced to suspend their proposed strike for two days.
At Samba, the contractual employees of SSA held one day pen down strike in the office of Chief Education Officer Samba. During the strike, all the Junior Engineers , Assistant Engineer , Data Entry Operators , Orderlies and others held protest.
