JAMMU, Nov 11: Two persons including a contractor were killed while as many were injured as retaining wall of a graveyard collapsed in Subash Nagar area today evening.
As per police sources, a retaining wall of a graveyard collapsed in Subash Nagar area here, resulting into serious injuries to four persons.
All the injured persons were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors declared two of them including a contractor as brought dead, while two others were undergoing treatment, when last reports came in.
The deceased were identified as Raman Gupta (contractor), son of Jagdish Raj Gupta, a resident of Bharat Nagar Talab Tillo District Jammu and Monika Devi, wife of Tek Ram, a resident of Chattisgarh, at present Thathar Bantalab District Jammu, while the injured were identified as Sukrita, daughter of Daleep and Shruti, wife of Daljeet, both residents of Chattisgarh, at present Patoli District Jammu.
The bodies of the deceased were shifted to mortuary of GMCH Jammu for autopsy, which will be conducted tomorrow.
Sarwal Police has taken cognizance in this regard.
