JAMMU, Aug 11: Contaminated water is being supplied to the residents of Channi Himmat Housing Colony.
According to residents, despite repeated appeals, persuasions to Chief Engineers and representations to the Lieutenant Governor on jkgrievancesportal viz judicial intervention, the Jal Shakti Department has failed to supply clean, uninterrupted and regular supply of water to Channi Himmat Housing Colony.
The situation has now taken worse turn with supply of dirty, polluted, soiled, filthy and contaminated water exposing the lives of residents to imminent risk of infections, they added.
The issue was discussed in a meeting of the Association, which was presided over by its President Advocate VK Grover.
The participants of the meeting had collected the sample of water supply and exhibited the same in the meeting.
The participants have again made an appealed to the higher ups in UT administration and senior officers of the Jal Shakti Department to personally and regularly monitor water supply in Channi Himmat so that leakages are plugged and contaminated water is not being supplied.
