JAMMU, Apr 19: Councilor Ward Number 73 Gadigarh Prof (Dr) Youdhvir Singh started the construction work of lane and drain at Mahant Bachitter Singh (MBS) Nagar Upper Gadigarh in the presence of locals of the area and officials of the Engineering Wing of Sub Division IV of MCJ Jammu.
The cost of project is Rs 5.50 lakh approximately and it was a long pending demand which has been fulfilled by the Councilor.
Prominent amongst those whose were present on this occasion includes Surjit Singh Ex. Secretary DGPC, Charanjeet Singh Retd SDM, Jasbir Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Harbinder Singh, Rasbir Singh, Jasvinder Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Dilbagh Singh, Sohan Singh Contractor, Manjot Singh JE Sub Division IV of MCJ.
On this occasion, Prof Singh also met with various deputations demanding the construction of lane and drain, blacktopping of the roads, electricity related problems and PHE related issues.
The Councilor assured all the people that their genuine demands will be redressed in the due course of time. He also intimated the people of the area about the cheerful news of dedicating crossing at Karan Bagh in the name of Sher-e-Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh, who ruled India that had its boundaries from Tibet on one side to Afghanistan on the other with its Capital at Lahore for glorious forty years.
He further informed that Mahant Manjit Singh Ji DeraNagali Sahib will be requested to formally inaugurate the renaming event in near future.
Surjit Singh while addressing on the occasion thanked Jammu Municipal Corporation for passing the resolution unanimously.
