Congress, Left suffer from ‘anti-RSS phobia’: Gaurav Gupta

JAMMU, Nov 10: BJP Jammu and Kashmir Spokesperson Gaurav Gupta today defended school students who sang the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) anthem “Gana Geetham” during the flagging-off of the Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express, calling the Kerala Government’s reaction “politically motivated and anti-national.”
Reacting to Kerala Education Minister V Sivankutty’s order for an inquiry into the incident, Gupta said it was an “insult to the spirit of nationalism” and proof that the Left Government had “lost its moral compass.”
He said calling a patriotic song a constitutional violation was “ridiculous and shameful,” adding that “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” was a chant of pure patriotism and not confined to any religion or political party.
Gupta accused the Congress and Left of dividing society over nationalism and suffering from an “allergy” to anything that celebrates India’s heritage.
He said by supporting the Kerala Government’s action, the Congress had “exposed its anti-national mindset and anti-Hindu bias.”
He further remarked that patriotism should unite citizens, not divide them along ideological lines, and said those opposing patriotic songs were disrespecting the Constitution.
Taking a dig at Congress leader KC Venugopal for seeking an explanation from the Railway Minister, Gupta said the party should appreciate children’s devotion instead of politicising it.
Gupta urged leaders to rise above politics and let the younger generation “sing freely for the nation.”
He asserted that the BJP stands with every child who sings for Bharat Mata and against any force trying to silence that voice.
