Congress discusses action plan to oppose US -India deal; says PM is compromised

JAMMU, Feb 26: JKPCC today held a marathon six hours long meeting to chalk out action plan to oppose, tooth and nail the unilateral US -India trade deal which has been termed as anti farmers likely to hit hard the farmers, fruit growers and others in J&K more than other parts of country.

PCC President Tariq Hameed Karra chaired the meet of prominent Congress leaders from all twenty districts, MLAs, former ministers / legislators, heads of frontal wings and other senior leaders. AICC General Secretary & CLP Leader G A Mir also attended the meeting, on the directions of AICC.
Addressing the meeting Mr Karra said that US has imposed the deal upon India as Prime Minister Modi is compromised due to various pressures and has bartered the interests of farmers in the country. “It has happened for the first time that farmers interests have been compromised which will destroy the farming community including those in allied sectors like poultry, dairy etc,” he added.
Karra announced that party would launch a vigorous campaign to oppose and expose the BJP Government for the sell-out of national interests in the hands of US President Donald trump, who is dictating India under Modi.
He said the party has planned a series of fruit growers and farmers Sammelans in Kashmir valley and Jammu region and has invited Congress President Malikarjun Kharge and LOP Rahul Gandhi to attend the same, next month. Meanwhile district level and north, south and central zone farmers programmes are being planned from Ist March., 8th March etc, he added.
Mr Karra also condemned the arrest of IYC President Udey Bhanu Chib and said: “Holding peaceful protest to lodge opposition to the wrong policies of BJP Government, has become a crime in the country under Modi regime. The Congress party is fully behind the youth Congress workers and would come on streets in every nook and corner of J&K to seek his release.”
While speaking, AICC General Secretary & CLP Leader G A Mir alleged that for the first time a compromised Prime Minister has sold out the interests of farmers and countrymen in the hands of US President Donald trump due to fear of Epstein Files and his friend Adani case.
He said Congress leadership of Kharge and Rahul Gandhi is very particular to save the interests of farmers, who are likely to get more affected in J&K UT and few other states. He said that Congress party will expose Modi Government’s wrong decisions under undue pressure of US, as being understood by everyone due to open claims of Trump himself. He also strongly condemned the arrest of Udey Bhanu Chib and the authoritarian policies of Modi Government.
JKPCC Working President Raman Bhalla said that party cadres shall reach out to the people especially farmers to aware them of the dangerous consequences of the US deal which is unilaterally announced by US President like ceasefire during Operation Sindhoor. He expressed grave concern over the dictates of US President and surrender of PM Modi due to obvious reasons.
At the outset, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma put forth agenda of the meeting, Several senior leaders and DCC Presidents took part in the deliberations.
