SRINAGAR, July 13: Chalking out strategy for restoration of normalcy in the Valley, Congress today held an urgent party meet in Srinagar which was presided over by JKPCC chief G A Mir and attended by senior Party functionaries and Legislators.
It was decided that the Party cadres, in order to reach out to the people, shall visit every district in the Valley and make serious efforts for restoration of normalcy with the help of local people. The Party leaders shall also meet senior citizens, civil society members etc involving them in the process of restoring normalcy in the Valley.
Expressing distress over the continuous disturbances, the Party has asked the cadres to reach out to the people seeking their help in normalizing the situation.
The Party has also asked the State Government to provide adequate security to Party leaders in every District enabling them to remain in touch with the people, so that they could be able to involve them (people) in restoring normalcy.
The Party also condemned the State Government for denying the security to Congressmen aiming to restrict their movement. The Party asked the Coalition Government to stop playing such type of politics, as it will not help them in saving their already dented image or hiding their failures.
Welcoming the decision of the Supreme Court to restore the Congress Govt in Arunachal Pradesh, Congress termed the decision as victory of democracy and asked the BJP to apologize for destabilizing the Congress regime.
Among those, who attended the meeting, included former PCC president Peerzada Mohd Syed, senior leader Taj Mohi-u-Din, MLC Gulam Nabi Monga, MLA Haji Ab Rashid Dar, Krishan K Amla, MLA Mohd Amin Bhat, MLA Usman Majeed, Surinder Singh Channi, ex-Minister Raman Mattoo and others.
