JAMMU, June 8: Congress leaders and workers from the Akhnoor Constituency held a meeting today at Manda, under the chairmanship of  Ashok Bhagat, senior Congress leader.
The gathering aimed to listen to public grievances related to various departments and to discuss ongoing party activities across the region. During the session, workers and local representatives voiced serious issues faced by the public concerning drinking water supply, electricity shortages, revenue matters, ration card irregularities, land compensation issues under Army occupation, and damage caused to homes during recent border shelling and windstorms.
These grievances were heard with patience and empathy, and Ashok Bhagat assured the attendees that all issues will be raised with the concerned departmental authorities at the earliest.
The meeting was attended by a number of prominent Congress leaders and workers including Bansi Lal Gupta, Krishan Lal, Des Raj, Krishan Dutt Khajuria, Capt Mani Ram, Capt. Bodh Raj, Chaman Lal, Behari Lal, Inderjeet, Kuldeep Singh, Vijay Singh, Capt. Narinder Singh, Capt. Bodh Raj Sungal, Brita Ram, Capt Ram Dass, Capt Joginder Paul Bachan Lal, Chuni Lal and others.
Tribute were paid to Late Ram Lal Sharma, a senior Congress worker who passed away last month due to a heart attack. A one-minute silence was observed in his memory, praying for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Senior leaders in the meeting urged all Congress workers to maintain constant contact with the voters in their respective areas and to bring their difficulties and concerns to the notice of the leadership so that timely interventions can be made.
Ashok Bhagat apprised the gathering about the upcoming programmes and activities charted by the party high command to be held at state, district, constituency and block levels in the coming months, reinforcing the party’s commitment to grassroots engagement and public welfare.
