Led by PCC vice president  Raman Bhalla, a large number of party leaders and workers including functionaries of District Congress Committee Jammu Urban and Mahila Congress took out a march from Congress head office, Shahidi Chowk, carrying banners and raising slogans against the State and Central Governments over their failures on various fronts.
As the protesters reached Raghunath Mandir Chowk,  a heavy contingent of Police  laid barricades and prevented the Congress leaders and workers from proceeding towards City Chowk. Upon this the Congress leaders staged a dharna and strong protest demonstration at the site raising slogans against the State Government for trying to prevent them to take out peaceful protest march in democratic manner. Earlier, addressing the gathering Raman Bhalla lashed out at the Modi led Government at the Centre for its utter failure to check corruption at the highest level. The allegations against Jay Shah, son of BJP president  Amit Shah is not a concocted story, these charges are made with fact and figures and needs to be probed by an independent agency. He questioned what is the magic by which  the company which was running in loss in 2012-13 and even in 2014-15, increased its business turnover by 16,000 times within over one year of BJP coming to power and demanded that Amit Shah should tender his resignation from the post on moral grounds.
Bhalla further said that both Centre and State Governments have failed to fulfill a single commitment with the people and have brought miseries for the common man due to their wrong policies.
Ravinder Sharma said that  countrymen want to know the truth on these allegations and demanded that PM Narindra Modi should immediately seek the resignation of Amit Shah from the post and hold an independent probe  headed by two sitting judges of Supreme Court.
Anil Chopra, DCC Jammu (U) president, senior leader Kanta Bhan, KL Gupta, Prof Gharu Ram,  Dukhdev Singh,  Suresh Sharma, BB Gupta, ML Malager and others  also spoke on the occasion.
