Cong seeks repoll in Darhal constituency

JAMMU, Dec 20: Congress has demanded re-polling in several polling booths of Darhal DDC constituency in Rajouri district, as all opposition candidates including INC, NC and PDP are sitting on dharna in infront of DDC office Rajouri since last night.
JKPCC chief spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma has supported the demand for repolling in various polling stations where the voters complained irregularities and bogus voting allegedly in favour of ruling party candidate. Since all opposition candidate are complaining about the alleged irregularities, the Election Commission should order repolling in such stations to maintain the faith of the people in the electoral process, he said.
“The Commission should take immediate notice of the ongoing dharna and protest by different political parties at DDC office Rajouri and issue appropriate directions, after ascertaing the facts from the public, without further delay, since ruling party has a strong interest in the area,” PCC chief spokesperson said.
Sharma hoped that the Commission shall take due notice of the matter and decide the things impartially and independently.
