Selection for Santosh Trophy

JAMMU, Dec 15:  JKPCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma has expressed great concern over the  controversy regarding the bias in the selection of football players for Santosh Trophy and questioned the reasons for  selection not even a single player from Jammu region in the process, despite higher number of candidates from the region..
Expressing surprise over the non selection of a good number of  players out of large number of  participants from the region, JKPCC chief spokesperson said that it was expected that a clear response shall be issued by the concerned authorities to put the entire facts in public domain but there is complete silence by all concerned ,which is not only unfortunate but dangerous in view of regional sensitivities and brewing resentment amongst people and youth.
Why all concerned in the government and administration are silent, he questioned, adding that as a result a particular perception is turning into anguish and anger amongst people, who are being made to believe that some sort of  injustice has been done to the deserving candidates of Jammu. Even one Jammu based player picked up plays for a Kashmir based Club.
Why the Government and responsible authorities should remain silent, if there nothing wrong and if otherwise, the guilty should face the music.
He asked the Government and concerned authorities to immediately respond to the controversy and allegations of bias and injustice. Such things can’t be allowed to happen in such a sensitive region, having multiple vested interests, he added.
