JAMMU, Oct 20: BJP State spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan strongly criticized the statements of Congress and Panthers Party aimed and alleged that they were misleading the people in the matter of reservation in promotions in J&K State for the SC, ST and other reserved categories.
In a statement issued here today he said they were giving wrong information and hiding their own failures.
Terming the politics being played by the Congress and Panthers party on the issue of reservation in promotions in the State as opportunistic, the BJP Spokesperson said that these parties were in power sharing in the previous Governments. He said that neither these parties nor their leaders belonging to SC category ever worried about the issue of promotion of SC, ST and other categories while they were holding key positions in the Government.
“If these parties and their leaders were sincere towards the SCs, STs and other reserved categories, why they did not pursue the adoption of 77th, 82nd and 85th Amendments of the Constitution of India in the State legislature, thereby enabling the reservations in promotions in State of J&K”, the spokesperson questioned.
He refreshed the memory of these parties and their leaders that It was during the Atal Behari Vajpayee Government at the Centre when 82nd and 85th Amendments in the Indian Constitution were incorporated which provides the reservations in promotions for the SCs and STs.
