JAMMU, Apr 7: Senior Congress leader and former Minister, Ch Gharu Ram, held inhouse meeting today at his office in RS Pura to deliberate on the growing public resentment against the current administration.
In the meeting Ch Gharu Ram highlighted the issues of the RS Pura Jammu South and Suchetgarh Constituency. Ch Gharu Ram highlighted the alarming rise in unemployment across the UT. He stated that despite tall promises of “industrial booms” and “thousands of jobs,” the youth of Jammu & Kashmir remain stranded in a sea of uncertainty, with recruitment processes marred by delays and cancellations.
He criticized for being disconnected from the ground reality. “The doors of those in power are closed to the public. Basic issues like water, electricity, and infrastructure are being ignored while the leadership remains busy in photo-ops,” he remarked.
The meeting discussed how the lack of a cohesive policy has crippled the local economy, leaving small traders and farmers in R.S. Pura and surrounding areas in financial distress.
Ch Gharu Ram also highlighted the issues of daily wagers and appealed the Govt to regularise them as earliest.
During the session, Ch Gharu Ram urged Congress workers to intensify their outreach programs and stand firmly with the people. He emphasized that the Congress party would not remain a silent spectator to the “anti-people” policies of the Government .
Prominents who were present in the meeting included- Yash Pal Block president Congress RS Pura, Neeraj Choudhary youth leader, Satpal Mandi, Sewa Ram, Sunita Rani, Ved Prakash Lakhotra and Mohit Raina.
