Cong for creating mechanism for access of chronic patients to hospitals

JAMMU, Apr 17: Chief Spokesperson of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee and former MLC, Ravinder Sharma has drawn attention of the authorities towards the issue of patients including ex-servicemen patients, who are on regular treatment of some chronic diseases and sought foolproof system of making their treatment and medicines available during lockdown.
Sharma said that the chronic patients undergoing treatment for serious ailments through civil hospitals including large number of ex-army men in rural areas, who are getting treatment and free medicines under ECHS are facing hardships during lockdown and need attention of the authorities.
“The chronic patients should be able to have access to their hospitals of treatment on regular basis, as advised, to save their lives and there should be mechanism for their travel permission and transport to capital cities and other specialized hospitals,” Sharma said.
He added that concerned authorities should create a concrete mechanism for regular treatment and delivery of medicines to those ex-army personnel or their family members getting treatment and medicines from ECHS clinics, but are unable to reach the capital headquarters in view of ongoing restrictions.
The senior Congress leader asked the Govt to ensure adequate quantity of PPEs and other required gears to the doctors and other health workers to examine the serious patients fearlessly.
He lauded the health workers and other frontline workers for performing their duties under most difficult circumstances and asked people to fully support them and the cause of the nation.
Sharma also lauded the civil and police administration for their efforts to deal with the situation and appreciated the police forces for herculean endeavours.
He also lauded the efforts of various NGOs and individuals, local population beside Congress workers for carrying out relief works for the poor in their respective areas.
