JAMMU, Nov 16: The Congress Fact Finding team headed by Ravinder Sharma and accompanied by former Dy Chairman Jahangir Mir, former Legislators Ved Mahajan and Dina Nath Bhagat, ex-MLA today visited Rajouri and held day long interaction with large number of functionaries of the party.
The committee held detailed deliberations with the contesting candidates of the party, senior leaders and other functionaries besides grass root leaders of the party to know about the outcome of results and measures to be adopted to strengthen the party in the twin districts.
.District president Shabir Ahmed Khan, MLA Rajouri Iftikhaar Ahmed, DDC Sain Rasheed, Ex- Chairman MC Thannamandi Shakeel Mir former general secretary PCC Parveen Sarwar Khan from Poonch, Chairman Pahari Cell Sajad Tariq, Rajinder Prasad and other senior leadership were present.
The party workers appreciated the initiative of the party leadership to constitute Fact Finding team of senior leaders to reach out the grass root party workers and discuss measures for strengthening party at grass root levels.
The candidates and workers shared their views and experiences of the elections and suggested way forward for strengthening the organization.
The workers expressed confidence that party is strong force and can emerge further stronger and counter the communal and divisive forces if certain corrective measures are taken. The people have high hopes from Congress party which is only secular and democratic force in the region.
The high powered committee appreciated the party workers who are committed to party’s ideology and have remained steady and strong during difficult times. They appreciated the party workers for the victory of party candidate in Rajouri defeating BJP while Thannamandi seat was lost due to division of coalition votes and few other reasons.
The committee indicated that some major initiatives are in the offing to revamp and strengthen the party at grass roots levels in the entire region as the party leadership is very serious to take corrective measures in this regard..
Earlier, the committee held deliberations with party workers and block presidents at Sunderbani and appreciated their commitment to the party.
