RAMBAN, Feb 4: Police foiled the Congress march at Ramban today as the party continues its nationwide `MGNREGA Bachao Sangram’ at all districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
The district-level “MGNREGA Bachao” dharna and march was held today in Ramban by the Indian National Congress. However, the protesters were stopped by the Police and were not allowed to proceed towards the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
The protest was led by District Congress Committee President Ramban, Mohd Ishaque Naik. Former National President of NSUI Firoz Khan, along with other senior party leaders, workers, and representatives from various Congress blocks of the district, participated in the peaceful protest.
The protesters raised slogans in support of MGNREGA and accused the administration of ignoring issues related to workers and rural employment.
Similarly, District Congress Committee today organised the MGNREGA Bachao Sangram and Hamari Riyasat, Hamara Haq campaigns at Panchayat Chakra in Village Chakra, Hiranagar constituency with the objective of highlighting issues related to people’s rights and strengthening grassroots democracy.
The programme was attended by senior leader Yugal Kishore Bali, along with Parveen Bhagat, Mahesh Gupta, Thuru Ram, Krishan Singh Rathore, Sham Lal, Ravi Kumar, Mohinder Paul, Sham Sharma, Kulbir Singh, Deepak Singh, Gopal Dass, Vishal Kumar, Pankaj Kumar, and other dedicated party workers.
