MARH Nov 25: Senior Congress leader and party candidate from Marh, Balwan Singh continuing his election campaign in his constituency addressed several public meetings at Jaswan and other areas and said that Congress always voiced concern for the common man.
Seeking support for him, Mr Singh asked the people to vote for Congress party, which he said, was symbol of peace, unity, prosperity, mutual brotherhood and development of the State. He said Congress was the only party which could ensure unity, integrity and keep united all communities for strengthening the nation. Congress always voiced the concern of the common man in every forum and tried to fulfill their aspirations, he added.
“The country has progressed tremendously under the regime of Congress and several people- friendly welfare programmes were launched which were well taken by the people,” Mr Balwan maintained.
Exuding hope that the Congress alone would form the next Government in the State, Mr Singh asked people to support the party wholeheartedly to accomplish the unfinished tasks initiated by the regime. He cautioned the people against the mischievous design of parties like BJP, NC and PDP, adding that these parties had hidden agenda of disintegrating the people in the name of religion, castes, regions which created distrust and unrest in the society. He said, “Ours is a pluralistic society and there is no place for such elements which promote the castism and religionism, therefore, Congress is the only viable alternate and people must support and strengthen it at the grass root level and ensure victory of its candidates throughout the State.”
Those who addressed the gathering include Congress leader Lala Devi Dass, ex-Sarpanch Davinder Singh and Block president Marh Ashwani Sharma.
